Many people throughout the ages have asked the question, “Is Santa real?” I am going to tell you that, yes, he is real. Those who may tell you he is not real are stupid idiots. Santa is very much real; he is just not what you think he is. Santa is the spirit of giving. He exists as generosity, happiness, and the joy of giving.
The fact is, you CANNOT prove that Santa is real. People say that dragons and aliens are not real, but you cannot prove that they aren’t. People have tried many times, but they can’t. To prove that Santa isn’t real, you could hire people to watch all the chimmny’s on Christmas night to see if Santa came, and they may not see anything, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t their.
In 1897, in response to a letter from Virginia O’Hanlon, age 8, Francis Pharcellus Church said, “Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.”
Santa is real, and he exists in the heart of every little child.
