The eighth grade girls basketball season has started and teams have been chosen. This year, Mr. Haga from the high school and Mrs. Kelly from Fremont are the coaches. Nobody got cut; in fact Mrs. Roberts had to go recruit girls that have never played. So far both teams have lost 2 games. They did a great job. The games were very close.

Hannah Keagy from the Gold team says, “My favorite part about basketball is teamwork, and I really like it because it is fun and competitive. I also like my coach because she works with the team.”

Emma Murphy is new here at Fremont. She came from Forest Grove. Emma is a point guard. She says, “I really like the coaches and the girls are welcoming.”

Ella Miller is on the Blue team, and her position is wing. Ella says, “I play because it is fun and I like hanging out with my friends.”

“I like my coach because he’s very nice and I am going to do basketball again,” says Daniella Ellison.
